answers8:1 = prequel 2 = sequel3 = trilogy4= tetrology5 = quintet (as

answers9:If it's over three books, then it's probably a series.
answers10:I've seen a series of four called a tetralogy (Sigrid
Undset's Master of Hestviken series), so I suppose a series of five
could be called a pentalogy. (I don't remember seeing or hearing the
term "saga" used to mean any particular number of volumes.) In any
case, it seems to me that the difference between a series and a
"-logy" of any number would be whether each volume was a complete and
satisfying story in itself, having little in common with other volumes
except some of the same characters, or was clearly part of a larger
story and left the reader not only wanting to read more involving
those characters but wanting to learn what became of them. In that
sense, most mystery novels featuring the same detective are merely
parts of series, while Jean Auel's Earth's Children novels are parts
of a "hexalogy" or a "heptalogy,' depending on whether she wraps
Ayla's story up in one more volume (the original plan) or two....Show
