hooking up a home theater subwoofer in a 2006 ford expedition?

Charlotte Bryar: Ask your doctor for some ear plugs.

Branden Roddick: you can buy an loc (Line Out Converter) which looks like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Scosche+-+2-Channel+Ad... and wire it to the wires from the factory sub in the car or (if your gutsy enough) wire to the factory harness on back of the factory radio (this includes taking the radio out of the dash). Then buy a 2male to 2male stereo audio rca cable that will look like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?produc... and then you buy a converter that is 2female to 1male rca cable that looks like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/NXG-Basix-Series-Y-Cable... I will say, most home theater subs are paper cone. If you put a paper cone sub in a heated environment, it will start to dry out. After it dries, it will crack and give you the worst lows (or bass) in the world! Like the other guy said, getting a new sub with enclosure and amp would be better....Show more

Brenton Cornwall: i! f the amp in the truck uses rca wires, then just attach those, if not, you can use high level input on the Home theater (HT) sub. how is the truck sub hooked up now? if it is using high level inputs, chances are there is no preout on the deck, but you could always take it out and check. Honestly, spend the $300 and get proper equipment. I imagine your HT sub is ~300 watts...for $300 I can reference you into getting a system that is 1000 watts 12", ...but it is up to you.
