Difference between dental assistant and dental hygenist?

Rosann Mccomb: Assistant helps the doctor. A hygienist cleans teeth and must be licensed, usually 2 years of school.

Arden Strachn: Dental assistants assist the dentist for all dental procedures whereas a dental hygienist cleans teeth and does not assist dentist. Hygienists make more money and require more training than assistants.
