Ervin Overbee: there is no gambling anywhere in the united states , if you play in a casino or on line you WILL lose , that's not gambling , every game every bet is fixed in favor of the house , if you win they know you must be cheating and they will throw you out

Weldon Totaro: Missouri, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Mississippi, Louisiana and several other states have casinos. You need to do your research for yourself before asking questions. By the way, gambling is against the law in the county where Las Vegas is located.

Blaine Connett: Short answer:The federal government has no laws about gambling within a state, so it was up to states to determine what gambling was allowed within a state. State legislatures usually has people close to communities who wanted to appear to have strong ties to religions which disapproved of gambling.:Long answer:For a long time casino gambling was only allowed in Nevada and California allowed card rooms to have draw poker because "it is a game of skill." Later New Jersey allowed casino gambling in Atlantic City to revive it as a tourist draw.Later most state governments allowed state run lotteries as a way to raise revenue. Then there was a legal ruling that said native Americans had to be allowed to offer gambling in any state that allowed any other forming of gambling, including lotteries. As a result most stat! es now have casinos owned by native Americans which are open t! o the public....Show more
