Damion Oleksa: Hi,I just bought a Camcorder, i'm not an expert by any means but I can tell you what I know.I bought a mini-dv. This type of Camcorder uses a small video tape that is used to record your video, than connect your camera to a computer and upload for editing and burning. The camera I bought didn't come with a cable so I bought a firewire card and cable to upload the video to the computer. The mini-Dv would be the lowest in cost. I bought a sony and am happy with it.Dvd camcorders burn the video directly to small dvd, so you can play the file immediately.Hard-drive cameras save the video file to a hard-drive built into the camera and most you can edit the video on the camera or upload to a computer to edit.That pretty much is the extent of my knowledge of video cameras, I hope it helped....Show more
