Lana Uliano: I think maybe you and your friend are not quite understanding correctly. If your friend made a claim, the insurance should pay, assuming the cost is more than his deductible amount. He must pay the deductible, and the insurance company pays the rest. Maybe the damage was not serious enough to exceed his deductible? Maybe they are not sure how the damage was caused, if you don't have a police report.
