how can I buy cars that had a total loss, should I buy from the insurance companies?

Ardath Templer: YOUR PURCHASE of WRECKED cars should be directly from the insurance companies... smart money would be pick and choose cars that are not completely totaled and cars that are in the loop for parts ..... 1st thing to do is go to the DMV in your state and be armed with all the questions that will allow you to operate as an auto rebuilder and ask about the liability factor in selling cars that have "" wrecked and rebuilt TITLES "" ..... if you can operate as a re-builder -- then you need to contact the local insurance offices and try to make a deal to buy those cars .... auto wreckers/junk yards are your competition and you will be bidding against them for those cars ... it is not an easy business and if you will go about doing all the home-work and operating "" honestly"" you may become a winner === in my opinion you would make more money running a paint and body shop. You will have to follow all the guide lines of a pro body shop and whatever you do in the ! rebuilding and car painting biz will be subjuct to O.S.H.A rules ..... more homework for you .......Show more
